“I'm a huge fan of Alphonse Mucha, and I had been looking at a lot of his work when I was making something to show on the lobby’s flat screen. You've probably seen Mucha’s advertising illustrations before—it used to be that illustration was the most popular (or only) way to advertise your product visually, e.g., that whole Art Nouveau thing. In the end, I just wanted to put something pretty on the TV.”
